Our video tutorial will quickly show you how to research, look up and find assisted living facilities throughout Rhode Island, as well as other senior care options. We will also highlight how to find out if a facility administrator has had any citations or disciplinary actions taken against him or her.
So, Jumping right in, the State of Rhode Island’s Department of Health website has a tool (which took a little digging to find) to look up facilities throughout the state, including licensure status and license type.
This tool is a good way to find out what is available in your area of Rhode Island, and should serve as a trustworthy starting point for further research.
Clicking on the facility name will display further information about the facility.
(Tip: Look at Issue Date to see how long a facility has been in service)
The information provided is comprehensive in terms of number of facilities listed, but may require further research for more specifics about each facility.
Nonetheless, this information should be considered trustworthy and unbiased.
In addition, this tool allows users to submit a complaint against the facility or administrator if they believe it is necessary.
Next, I would like to show you how to look up disciplinary actions that have been taken against facility administrators for violations that have occurred.
Simply choose the license type (assisted living residence administrator) and choose ‘get actions’ and a list of disciplinary actions, or sanctions will be displayed, and the resulting action that was taken.
